Being sacrificed to some “Saint Nick” hadn’t been in the plans when my boyfriend, Cameron, asked me to come home with him for Christmas.
Yet here I am—terrified, painted in animal blood, and laid beneath the Christmas tree among bread, meat, and handmade offerings left by his crazy family.
Worse, a man appears out of nowhere. And he isn’t some smiling, fat Santa Claus.
Saint Nick is very real, and Cameron’s family has a long memory. While the rest of the world forgot him, they never stopped believing. Never stopped worshipping. And apparently, they never stopped leaving him gifts.
This year, they gave him me.
Nick seems more amused than surprised by his newest offering, and the longer he looks at me, the more festive his mood becomes.
I should be terrified of what he has planned. The problem is, Saint Nick may not be the only one beginning to enjoy Christmas.
